Overview

As skilled subcontract designers and detailers, JLC have recently completed extensive design commissions on 3 new build power stations at Great Yarmouth in the UK, Manjung in Malaysia, and Sidi Krir in Egypt

On Great Yarmouth we undertook our design to US codes of practice using UK metric profiles, whereas for Sidi Krir we combined US section profiles with UK codes of practice.

On both of these projects we contributed to the successful delivery of the entire steel frame to the massive turbine halls.

For Manjung, we applied US codes of practice to Japanese sections for the huge coal handling plant. We provided a full design and detailing package following the original concepts through to the finished structure, all from a UK base. Modern communication enabled the project to be co-ordinated through the digital issue of  some 9800plus drawings and documents. Not one single paper print was issued from our offices to the Malaysian construction team.
